Applying Patches on DB2020 Phones with JDFlasher

JDFlasher is very faster….. You can apply 300kb patch only in two minutes….. But if you consider about SETool 2 Lite, it takes nearly 20 to 25 minutes to apply the same patch…. So try JDFlasher and enjoy big GFX patches………….

First of all you need Far Manager 1.7, JDFlasher Plugin and USBFlash Driver

Install Far Manager and extract JDFlasher to the Far plugin directory. By default it will be C:\Program Files\Far\Plugins\

Applying Quick_access patch: you have to follow bellow steps only one time…………

01. Download a copy of the Main

02. Put the Main (.mbn) file in the Far \ Plugins \ jdflaser \ 2020_52

03. Drag the Main (.mbn) file to the qmaker.exe

04. Allow finish the process. It should not take more than a few seconds.It will create a quick_access.vkp patch like: quick_access_W610_R8BA024.vkp

05. If you dont want to do that, Download quick_access vkp patch from here………

06. Open Far Manager, press Alt-F1 and select “just gives flasher”

07. Choose “db2020″ from Script section, DCU-60 from port, the maximum speed and click “jump down into a large rabbit-hole”

08. As soon connect your phone and double click on “bflash”

09. It is necessary to reinsert the battery 3 times (it will tell you when to). Do not leave your computer

10. At the time it is finished, tell Re-falshear the Main. Let’s do it now

11. In the right pane to navigate Far \ Plugins \ jdflasher \ 2020_52

12. Choose your Main (be sure to select the .mbn file and no .vkp File!) Click copy. In the 1st of dialogue do not change anything, just click copy. In the 2nd ensure dialogue “flash babe image” (1 st option) is selected and click flash

13. After Flash has done select the quick_access .VKP patch which is in the Far \ Plugins \ jdflasher \ 2020_52 press and copy. Do not change anything in the 1st dialogue again. In the 2nd dialogue to ensure that “Process vkp patch” is selected and click “flash”. You should take a few seconds

14. You can now apply any patch you want!

15. When you are done, click the 3 points or 2 points (“…”) and select “yes”

You have to follow above steps only the first time…..

Now steps for applying vkp Patches:

01. Run Far Manager, press Alt-F1 and select “just gives flasher”

02. Choose “qa2020″ from Script section, DCU-60 from port, the maximum speed and click “jump down into a large rabbit-hole”

03. As soon connect your phone and double click on “bflash”

04. Now in the right pane to navigate to the directory where is your .vkp patches

05. Now select any of the vkp patch and press copy. Do not change anything in the 1st dialogue nad click “copy”. In the 2nd dialogue to ensure that “as a vkp patch”(2nd option) is selected and click “yeah, flash it”

06. After few seconds it shows a dialog box that vkp patch execute ok

07. If you want to remove any patch, select any of the vkp patch and press copy. Do not change anything in the 1st dialogue box and click “copy”. In the 2nd dialogue to ensure that “remove patch”(3rd option) is selected and click “yeah, flash it”

08. After few seconds it shows a dialog box that vkp patch execute ok

09. When you are done, click the 3 points or 2 points (“…”) and select “yes”

Switch on your phone and enjoy patches……..

Applying Patches on DB2020 Phones with SETool 2 Lite

For applying patch you need SETool 2 Lite V1.11 and USB Flash Driver…..

Here is the Video Tutorial

You must do this one time! After that you will skip all this process!!!

1. unzip it and run setool2lt.exe

2. Select your phone type and click on Read GDFS; tum off your phone and connect it by pressing “C” button.

3. it will backup your phone’s GDFS.

4. Now try to find out qamaker.exe on qamaker folder;

5. Copy your main firmware file (.mbn) to the qamaker folder;

6. Drag the MAIN file (.mbn) that you have in your phone on to qamaker.exe From the qamaker folder that comes whith SETool2 Lite 1.11; this will create a vkp file; (or here are some “quick_access” patches for Download)

7. The vkp file created in step 6 (like “quick_access_W610_R8BA024.vkp”) put it in to MISC FILES;

8. Select phone type and Click bypass db2020 security next to phone type;
9. Add the main FW (.mbn) file (like you would like to flash it);
10. Press FLASH button; connect your phone by pressing “C” button.
11. Follow the instructions given by setool2 lite. Be carrefull! At one moment you will belive that nothing happens and the status windows is not changing! Not remove the CABLE! untill it tells to do. Wait until “ELAPSED x SECONDS” appears in status window.

This process will take some time, about 10-15 minutes or more….

Remove battery and reinsert it………

After this process, follow this steps for every patch with the condition to check “Use “quick access” patch” and uncheck “bypass DB2020 security” on next to the phone type:

2. select “use “quick access” patch“

3. put your custom patch on MISC files; (here are some patch for W610i R8BA024, Download….)

4. Click on Write SCRIPT

5. Connect your phone, SETool 2 Lite will apply patch….

6. When it shows you to unplug the phone, than unplug your phone and turn power on.

How to Change Font on DB2020 Phones

To change font you need to have either XS++ 3.1 or SeTool 2 lite or FarManager….

You also need USB Flash Driver for connecting your phone.

In this tutorial i am showing you how to change font by XS++….

Shutdown phone .. !
Start XS++
Click on connect in XS++
holding C connect phone to USB cable ! don’t leave C untill XS++ says ready for operation !

Backup GDFS if you dont have GDFS backup. Here is the Tutorial.

Now again connect your phone with XS++

Now In configuration select FSX

Click on Start FSX

Wait some times, it will make some dir of your phone

Now you can see drop down menu on “Filesystem Explorer”

go to tpa/preset/system/fonts

Now click Upload and select your yourfontname.ttf and fonts.xml files. (you can download some from here…)

So XS++ will upload those files

Now click on Shutdown

XS++ will tell you to unplug your phone.

Now Power on your phone and enjoy new font…

SE db2020 Image Tool

It allows to change system graphics on db2020 phones.
Tested on К800 (flashed into К810), W610.

Working with software:

1. Download Main Firmware file (.mbn) from Internet, same version, as in your phone
2. Open main (.mbn) file in SE db2020 Image Tool and wait until it loads images
3. Delete some unusual images by pressing “Delete image” from the preview (those icons will also remove from your phone too, so be careful), for getting free space to upload your custom big sized PNG images
4. Select image which you want to replace
5. Press “Replace selected image” button
6. Locate and open image which you want to replace to.
7. Repeat the same for any number of images
8. Press “Make .vkp patch” button
9. Save patch to disc and patch your phone with SETool2 lite or JDFlasher
10. Save your project with “Save project” Button for later use

Button “Save image to disc” allows you to save original image.

Note: Click on ‘Expert mode’ and then click on “Restore graphics patch” for making restore patch. You can use that patch for removing all GFX patch from your phone.

You can change images to other size, but that’s not well tested

Extracting FS

1. Create new folder, and copy file C:\windows\system32\cmd.exe to it.
2. Download Main2Raw and SEFStool4, and extract to folder, which you create.
3. Copy FS, which you want extract to same folder.
4. Run cmd.exe
5. Now you create .raw image. In cmd.exe write “main2raw.exe yourFS.bin/nbm” and press “Enter”.
6. When you create .raw image, press “Enter”.
7. Now you will extract FS. In cmd.exe write “sefstool4.exe yourcreatedrawimage.raw”.

Now it is done. You have complete FS backup .

Backup of GDFS

Hello friends…

here is a small tutorial for GDFS backup…

Tools for GDFS backup: You can backup GDFS by many tools like- XS++, SETool 2 lite, etc.

In this tutorial i am showing you how to backup GDFS by XS++….

You also need USB Flash driver for connecting phone with XS++.

Backup of GDFS:

Shutdown phone .. !
Start XS++
Click on connect in XS++
holding C connect phone to USB cable ! don’t leave C untill XS++ says ready for operation !
Connecting phone to XS++.

Now In configuration select GDFS..
Click Backup GDFS…!
wait for few seconds..!! you get your GDFS back up file in XS++ backup Directory !
Keep the copies of your GDFS safely !!!!

Note: You can use XS++ to backup gdfs of any Sony Ericsson db2010,db2012,db2020 phones.
